Bundeena Art Trail

A couple of weeks ago, I went with a few friends to the Bundeena Art Trail which opens every first Sunday of the month. The Bundeena Art Trail is made up of a collection of artists, each with their own style and medium, who all live in Bundeena. It was an amazing opportunity to take a peek into the lives of artists inside their studios/workshops. And also to view their latest works.

If you live in Sydney, I highly recommend it! You can catch the train to Cronulla station, and then ferry over to Bundeena (about 10 minutes). Make sure you wear sunscreen and walking shoes as there are quite a distance to cover from one artist to another.

What was forecasted as a rainy day turned sunny and nice. And I really enjoyed viewing how professional artists work. Go early so you can have a nice lunch and then walk around to enjoy the wonderful sceneries in Bundeena.

Here are my favourites!

Liz Borghero - Studio 21
Liz uses different materials in her work. I loved how she utilised pieces of wood to contrast with the whiteness of her ceramics. She also does this crazy-ass wall pieces made up of thousands of folded paper. Amazing!

Jia Wei Shen - Studio 8
Jia Wei was a lovely man who patiently answered questions and explained his work. As I walked into his studio, he greeted me with a "ni hao". It's at times like that I wish I speak fluent Mando! He's a portraitist... and I really like the one he did on Princess Mary.
